About Roy’s Handyman Service
Roy’s Handyman Service was established in 2002 and is based in Upton, Northampton. Roy’s Handyman Service is a property maintenance and repair business, offering electrical, plumbing, general maintenance & repair services in the Northampton area and nearby adjoining villages.
The business is run and operated by Roy Marnewick, who is also the sole workman. I pride myself on providing an honest, reliable, and personal service to my customers. As testimony to this, most of my customers have referred their acquaintances to me, and have also called on me for further jobs.
I give my personal commitment to my customers that I will advise them based on their needs and the existing circumstances, rather than on my potential personal gain from taking on unnecessary work.
Roy’s Handyman Service only take on local work in the Northampton area as this facilitates a quick response time to work requests from customers, whilst also enabling competitive pricing. I give my personal commitment to honour booked times, or to advise customers well in advance if any unavoidable delay may prevent me from being on time. To this end – I also try to avoid over-booking of work.
The bulk of my work comprises those “small jobs” that many others do not want to take on. Whilst on your property, I take utmost care to prevent damage to your property and personal effects, and will always leave it in a clean and tidy state upon completion of my work.
Pricing Policy
Work can be priced on either of the following, as appropriate to the nature and extent of work:
- Fixed Price – usually for very small jobs where the exact nature and extent of work are well defined upfront.
- Hourly Rate – usually for slightly bigger jobs or where the exact nature and/or extent of work cannot be ascertained upfront.
- Daily Rate – usually for bigger jobs or those comprising a number of different smaller jobs or where the exact nature and/or extent of work cannot be ascertained upfront.
Where possible, the pricing or type of pricing will be agreed telephonically with the customer in order to save on time and travel costs. Where this is not possible, a visit to site can be arranged to ascertain the nature and extent of the work and to agree a price or pricing method.
With the exception of jobs which the customer has requested that I purchase materials which are specific to the job, and which I do not stock as normal consumables, the customer shall have the right to cancel at any stage prior to commencement with the work.
